Hopes ruled out of Nagpur ODI
Injuries continue to scare Australian team in the seven one day international match series against India as all-rounder James Hopes has been ruled out of the second ODI match to be played in Nagpur on Wednesday.
Hopes had sustained a hamstring strain during the first match in Vadodra on Sunday. Australian pacer Brett Lee and Michelle Johnson are also looking doubtful for the next match due to injuries.
Johnson had twisted his left ankle while fielding in the first match while Lee is suffering with a sore elbow. Lee had left the ground after his second spell and he had bowled only six overs in the Sunday thriller.
Australian team physiotherapist Kevin Sims informed that Hopes, Lee and Johnson have underwent scan in the morning and Hopes has been ruled out while decision upon Lee and Johnson will be taken after accessing their recovery just before start of the second match.
Injuries to Hopes, Lee and Johnson is a major set back for Australian team as they are already missing Michael Clarke, Brad Haddin and Nathan Bracken who were ruled out of the Indian tour due to injuries.
