Hitachi has announced Ultra Thin range of LCD televisions for Indian market. The Hitachi Ultra Thin Series will be available in 32, 37 and 42 inch models in first quarter of next year. Hitachi claims that its Ultra Thin series is the slimmest LCD with a thickness of only 35 mm. Hitachi also plans to introduce a 19 mm thickness LCD by year 2009.

Hitachi is also ready with its complete range of High Definition Plasma TVs for Indian market. The sales for HDTV and LCD TVs has picked up very fast in recent two quarters. Hitachi wants to offer more products to Indian consumers to grab a bigger market share.

The 32-inch Ultra Thin LCD has 360degree aesthetic appeal. These LCDs can be placed anywhere and need not be wall mounted only. The models will be available in 4 different colors. Till now, the LCD range for Indian market was not with many color options. Consumers can choose from Red, Black, White, and Blue variants. The 32-inch ultra thin LCD weighs a little over 10 kilograms.

The new range of Hitachi LCDs and complete range of Hitachi HDTVs will be available at all Hitachi exclusive stores across India. Hitachi has also in talks with many other retailers to offer its products on multi-brand outlets. The price range for the new series has not been decided yet. In United States, 32-inch models of Hitachi range anywhere between $800 - $1200 depending on features.
