HINDRAF activities could destablise Malaysia, says offiicial
Kuala Lumpur, Dec. 10: The Hindu Rights Action Force (HINDRAF) has been described as an extremist group that could destabilise Malaysia in the long term.
According to Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo, Malay Indians should not be influenced by the HINDRAF.
In an interview on Saturday night, which was reported by Malaysia’s Daily Star newspaper, Toyo said there was a need for the relevant authorities to act against the movement to ensure peace in Malaysia.
Commenting on the demolition of the temple at Kampung Rimba Jaya, he said it had to be done as it was on private land, and added that it was pulled down on the orders of a court.
The state government has said that would give a RM40, 000 as compensation for the temple relocation, which was agreed to by the original owner.
The intervention of HINDRAF members has led to Malay Indians breaking the law, and ten enforcement officers being sent to hospital, official sources were quoted, as saying. (ANI)
