High dollar index keeps Grain futures mixed
As the dollar index rose 0.24 percent and weather patterns remain favorable, Grain futures were mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade on Tuesday.
Corn was off 2 1/2 to off 3 1/2, soybeans were off 3 to up 2 1/4, wheat was off 1 1/4 to off 3 and oats were up 10 3/4 to up 14 1/2.
According to the reports, Corn prices were off, although the U. S. Department of Agriculture's weekly crop report Monday said growing conditions had deteriorated slightly.
Warm weather expected to turn hot should provide an extended pattern favorable to the winter wheat harvest.
The report further noted that soybean futures were mixed after a rally that has added about 60 cents to November delivery soybean prices in the past two weeks. (With Inputs from Agencies)
