Hero Honda gifts its shareholders 4000% dividend
Celebrating the success that the two-wheeler major has been enjoying over the past couple of years, Hero Honda today announced the Silver Jubilee Special Dividend of 4,000 per cent or Rs 80 per equity share of Rs 2 each, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
However, despite the gift to the investors, shares of the company declined 1.93 per cent to settle the day at Rs 1,966.70 on the BSE.
Notably, Hero Honda is expected to break the 4.5 million unit sales tag in the current fiscal and the company being the largest producer of two-wheelers from the past nine years has been able to successfully outshine its counterparts. Be it the launch of the much-awaited Karizma ZMR or its tight grip on the rural market, the two-wheeler major has been growing leaps and bounds in the Indian two-wheeler industry.
While the industry has even shown a negative growth in the past couple of years, the company has always kept its flag flying high. Experts believe that its Honda's one of the most successful JV in the global marketplace.
