Here’s What Made Charlie Sheen Stop Taking Cocktail of HIV Medications
American actor Charlie Sheen, who disclosed two months ago that he is HIV positive, was not taking his HIV medications for last one week and enrolled in an unspecified treatment in Mexico. As per the ‘Platoon’ actor’s manager, Mark Burg, the actor had gone temporarily off on medications. Now, there are reports that Sheen has started taking the medications again.
The 50-year-old Sheen said in a statement that he has been off his HIV medication for about a week. The actor also said that he knows that he’s risking his life, but he doesn’t care for it as he was born dead.
In an audio released Dr. Mehmet Oz, Sheen’s Mexican physician Dr. Sam Chachoua is claiming that Sheen has sought help from him and his treatment helps the actor. The doctor even said that he injected himself with the actor’s blood. Chachoua also claimed that the ‘Anger Managem’ star has been the first person in the history of mankind without antiviral therapy for HIV.
During an interview with Dr. Mehmet Oz, Sheen said, “I didn’t see it as Russian roulette. I didn’t see it as a complete dismissal of the conventional course we’ve been on. I’m not recommending that anyone do likewise. I’m presenting myself as a type of guinea pig”.
The actor told Oz that undetectable amount of HIV in his blood has increased in last two months, since he revealed his HIV. He even said that he had been non-detectable and checking blood reports every week are back up.
Now, Sheen is back on his HIV medications after a few days of alternate therapy, his manager revealed. Chachoua, who was providing alternate therapy to the actor, was not licensed to practice medicine in the United States.
