Santa Monica-based pediatrician Dr. Robert Hamilton said dealing with screaming and crying babies was part of his profession and he has been dealing such situations on a regular basis since 30 years of practice. Now, the doctor has shared his secret trick that can quickly calm a crying baby.

Dr. Hamilton recently shared his technique called ‘The Hold’ on Reddit. The video went viral in very short duration and some members took note of the way the doctor held the baby.

In the video, the doctor can be seen demonstrating tricks on how to calm a crying baby. The video shows doctor folding baby’s arms to her chest and as he supports her head, with the doctors’ other hand clasping the baby at her bottom.

Then, the doctor gently holds the baby at a 45-degree angle to maintain control in case the baby rocks its head back. After this, the doctor slowly rocked the baby up and down or stirs clockwise or counterclockwise, while doing this the baby's bottom was also being gently rocked back and forth.

The baby in the video has her chin resting on the doctor's index finger and set at an angle, there was no danger for her to throw her head back or lose balance. The video was also posted on YouTube and it received more than 1.6 million views.
