Healing Earth through art

An exhibition of paintings by Harpal Sodhi and Lipsical Rore is on till March 6 at the Hutheesing Visual Art Centre

Everything in existence, the living and the non-living, is surrounded by naturally-created vibrations that complement each other's prosperity and wellbeing. The exhibition of paintings by Harpal Sodhi and Lipsical Rore titled 'The Healing Earth' is a collection of paintings that emit positive energy of different levels depending on the colours and forms depicted. It is believed that these paintings have a healing effect on the observer as well as on the place where it is displayed.

The society is split up world over on the basis of religion, custom, economic development, language and geographical location, but the only force that unifies the scattered bits is paintings. Harpal says, "Paintings are silent global language. All my paintings project a silent language of colours and forms."

Harpal's paintings portray the subconscious manifestation of vision, giving birth to forms that emit positive vibrations. Her painting titled 'Ancient powers'  emits positive vibrations that have a spiritual effect on the soul, body and the mind of the observer, while the one titled 'Body and Soul' shows twin figures, which although have a separate existence, are united in form. The artist is currently working on other paintings and has undertaken research on global faith and peace.

For Rore, art is a creative expression of both the living and the nonliving. A wide range of bright colours is characteristic of her paintings, which usually have a healing effect on the soul and body of the observer. Her paintings on flowers depict an array of colours under the influence of time and light.  Apart from being an artist, Rore is also a Reiki master. She is currently working on 'Healing Art', which she is planning to exhibit sometime soon in India and the US.
