Hawaiian Volcano Observatory downgrades Volcano Alert Level for Kilauea
The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory has dropped the warning alert which it previously raised for the Puna lava flow in Hawaii. The place has now been reported to not facing any potential volcanic eruption dangers. WFSB has reported that the lava showed huge signs of descent.
The warning has been taken down but it does not mean the volcanoes are not active in Hawaii. Puu 'O'o vent on Kilauea Volcano's East Rift Zone and in Halemaumau Crater are very active volcanoes. Although they continue to throw out lava, no imminent danger is being posed by them. Lava is currently reaching to upper four miles of these active volcanoes, so chances are very low to cause any harm to the people or the surrounding areas.
After a volcanic activity took place on June 27 last year, the initial threat was made. The scientists at the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory began to issue the warning signal for the people to stay away from the area after lava started to affect the surrounding area.
USGS geologists will keep on making efforts to monitor all the active volcanoes in the area very closely. They will work in tandem with the Hawaii County Civil Defense to avoid any unforeseen circumstance. Updates will be sent to people on daily basis to keep them informed about the current situation of the volcanoes.
According to scientists at the Hawaii County Civil Defense, chances are very low for the lava tube that fed lava towards the Pahoa Marketplace will become active again.
