Gaza City - Hamas traffic police were back in the streets of Gaza City Monday, with the radical Islamic movement ruling Gaza showing a presence for the first time after three weeks of deadly and destructive Israeli attacks, residents said.

Wearing civilians clothes, as well as yellow vests with the word traffic written on them, the traffic police deployed at major junctions throughout the city, they said.

No regular police in blue uniforms were as yet seen in the streets, they said. (dpa)
