H1N1 virus is showing its mammoth attack in India

H1N1-virusThe reports confirm that in the last one week H1N1 virus is presenting its mammoth attack in India by hitting 330 people with the infection across the country. The badly affected areas are the four southern states and Maharashtra.

As per sources, it is reported that around 17 people died of swine flu across the country since 5 July, and last week a boy died of virus in New Delhi.

Health ministry is also maintaining records of the infected persons and those who died of this infection, as per their reports, Maharashtra and Kerala reported eight deaths and one died in Andhra Pradesh.

Among the four southern states, Kerala scores the highest number of infected peoples with 178 confirmed cases of swine flu, followed by Karnataka with 19 cases, Andhra Pradesh with 18, and Tamil Nadu with 13 but Maharashtra scored the second position by reporting 91 cases.

Between June 28 and July 5, the infection was higher than last week infections, in the previous week 370 cases were recorded.

This week, swine flu has also reached eastern part of the country; West Bengal reporting 7 cases of H1N1 flu.

Since June 10, Delhi has witnessed 7 cases of swine flu and is shaken by the death of a boy due to swine flu at Ram Manohar Lohia hospital on Friday .A health official said that all the patients found H1N1 Positive got the infection from outside the Delhi premises.

From the time when in May last year, swine flu was declared as epidemic, India has confirmed 33,783 cases of the disease so far whereas 1,624 deaths have been documented.
