Greek leftist group claims attack on television station
Athens - The leftist Greek group Revolutionary Sect claimed Saturday responsibility for a gun attack on the country's fourth- largest television station earlier this week and threatened further such attacks.
The group made the claim in a message in the Athens paper Ta Nea, without however making any demands.
No-one was injured in the attack on the television broadcaster ALTER last Tuesday, whn at least 14 shots were fired from an automatic weapon. The bullets struck the television building as well as a number of cars parked in front of it.
The attack was the latest incident in a spiral of leftist violence sweeping over Greece in recent weeks and months, triggered by the police killing of a 15-year-old youth in Athens last December. (dpa)
