Google updates its ‘Google+’ social platformInternet giant, Google has released a new update for its social networking platform, Google+ in order to compete with rivals including Facebook and Twitter.

The company released small changes aimed at refining the platform in the area of response and feedback. The new "graphic equalizer" will attach a volume nob on each user so the level of exposure can be controlled by a person.

Possibility inspired by Facebook’s photo sharing system, Google overhauled the photo viewing features of Google+. It now offers lightbox viewing environment allowing users to view pictures in full-screen mode as comments are shown on the sides. The company has also made photo sharing easier for the users.

The users can now easily use photo editing tools for cropping, adding text, and overlaying funny graphics.

The changes are largely in response to the significant changes rolled out by rivals. Many see the dept of changes as a new evolution of the social networking medium, which is used by millions of people from around the world. Facebook, the world’s largest social networking site as well as Twitter, the leader in Micro-blogging have upgraded their services with new design and features.

Even as the changes released by Google appear small compared to its rival, the platform has gained significant popularity in the first six months of its launch and it is believed that it is here to stay, unlike other Google projects like Buzz and Orkut, which is fast loosing its appeal.
