Google opens its first store in London
Internet giant, Google has opened its first retail store in the British capital, London instead of its home market in the US surprising many in the technology world.
The first Google store opened at PC World in Tottenham Court Road in London. The 285 sqft shop within a shop will sell Google's Chromebook laptop and accessories will be open for three months until Christmas.
It is believed that if the small experiment is successful then the company might follow the footsteps of its rival Apple and create a retail chain across different countries. The store, which is officially called, "the Chromezone", did not open with much fan fare.
Arvind Desikan, head of consumer marketing at Google UK, said: "It is our first foray into physical retail. This is a new channel for us and it's still very, very early days. It's something Google is going to play with and see where it leads."
