Google India launches Doodle 4 Google contest 2012
Google India has announced its new Doodle 4 Google contest 2012 inviting school children in the country in the age group of 5 to 16 to draw an innovative doodle. The doodle that wins will be features on the search engine's India version on 14 November, which is celebrated as Children's day in India.
The theme for this year's competition is `Unity In Diversity' and all entries have to be submitted by 23 October, 2012. As many as one hundred thousands were received during the previous year and the number of entries is expected to rise as the company has expanded the contest to a total of 40 cities.
Nikhil Rungta, Country Marketing Head, Google India said that the competition allows children to compete on a national level by mixing art and technology. The competition will divide the participants in three groups on the basis of their classes. Group 1 will include children from class 1 to 3, Group 2 will include students from class 4 to 6, and finally Group 3 will include students from class 7 to 10.
Google has planned to add a region-wise grouping to the competition including North, South, East, West. It will select three students from every regions, one per group for the final selection of the doodle.
