Google Chrome Web App bestows a new Lifeline
Google has launched its Web apps store that enables one to purchase apps directly just like Apple's iTunes store.
The announcement was made at Google I/O conference in San Francisco on Wednesday permitting developers with a facility to publicize their software and make it available for the mass with greater visibility.
Also, industries such as news publications, video producers and musicians can now sell web content through this store.
Apart from the prices the immediate confusion that prevails at the moment is whether these apps will only run in Google's Chrome browser, but Google claims that any modern browser will be able to run the apps.
However the time trail will let us know how it fares in this competition era.
