Girls' coats by S. Rothschild recalled due to strangulation hazard
A voluntary recall of S. Rothschild & Co. girls' coats has been announced by the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission due to a strangulation hazard.
According to the reports, about 13,500 coats were imported from Guatemala by S. Rothschild & Co. of New York and sold nationwide from September 2006 through September 2009 for between $70 and $100.
The commission further said that the coats have detachable capes with drawstrings that pose a threat of strangulation.
The coats, sold in pink, blue, red and vanilla, have capes of faux fur or with faux fur lining.
It was further reported that the capes were sold in charcoal and vanilla.
The officials further informed that the consumers were advised to remove the drawstring from the cap or detach, and not use the cape that comes with the coat. Consumers can also return the cape to S. Rothschild for a free repair. (With Inputs from Agencies)
