Girl donates hair to raise awareness about breast cancer

A lot is being done these days to raise awareness against breast cancer. One of such events is the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk being sponsored by the American Cancer Society. People taking part in it have their own reasons. One such person shares her reason of taking part in this walk, which was held on October 17.

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk was organized in downtown Buffalo. The girl wearing a bright pink-colored t-shirt was part of a team called Heather’s Heroes. In the event, thousands of people took part.

The girl said her aunt Heather suffered from stage 3A Invasive Ductile Carcinoma Breast Cancer. When she was diagnosed on June 17, it was a heartbreaking for her and entire family. In this entire episode of chemotherapy sessions, the lady did not lose hope even for once.

The girl’s aunt was quite positive and believed in looking at the side of glass that is half full rather than looking at its empty half. Everyone came to help Aunt Heather through different ways and means. Families provided food, so that Aunt Heather can relax and have cooked meal.

During chemotherapy, Aunt Heather lost all her hair and used to wear a wig. Owing to it, the girl donated her hair three times. In fact, she is planning to donate her pair to Pantene in honor of her aunt.
