Gilchrist tells axed Warner to ''take heart''
Adelaide (Australia), Feb. 10 : Former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist has no doubt that big-hitting New South Wales rookie David Warner will bounce back to the international arena.
He said Warner should take heart from the fact that all great cricketers are dropped at some stage in their careers.
Twenty-two-year-old Warner belted 89 on debut for Australia in the Twenty20 last month, but a string of flops in the 50-over format led to the youngster being axed from the national squad.
"I wouldn''t write him off; he''s shown he''s got the skill set and the basic foundation to be an exciting player," the Daily Telegraph quoted Gilchrist, as saying.
"I''m sure many people (will tell him) that most good or great Australian players get dropped at some stage and most often it''s early in their career. You go in, get a taste, go out, come back in," added Gilchrist. (ANI)
