‘Ghajini’ Ready To Hit Pakistani Theaters On Friday
The relationship between India and Pakistan is not so good after the Mumbai terrorist attack on 26th November, 2008, and that’s why the release of SRK’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ and Aamir’s ‘Ghajini’ have been banned in Pakistan.
But now ‘Ghajini’ is releasing in Pakistan on Friday.
Mr. Nadeem Mandviwalla, top distributor and exhibitor, stated, “Ghajini has been cleared by the censors and we are anticipating it to be a big hit in Pakistan as it is Aamir's first release in theaters in the country.”
After early fears that the edgy relations between the countries (India & Pak) would also affect the cultural ties, the Pakistani Government has approved the release of the film, which is still setting Indian box office afire since its release on December 25, 2008.
Kamran, an employee from Nishat Cinema said that Ghajini will be shown in four theaters in Karachi, and all theatres are showing good response in advance ticket sales.
“Although, the advertising build up for the film has been low key due to the conditions but still people are keen on watching it on the big screen,” he added.
Mr. Mandviwalla also said that people were expecting that Rab Ne… and Ghajini would hit Indian and Pakistani theatres at the same time, but the Mumbai episode spoiled all such plans.
He added that exhibitors were confident that Pakistan Government would also approve Akki upcoming film ‘Chandni Chowk to China’ for release later this month.
