Ghajini is gonna stick around in the theatres for quite a long time
Director: A. R. Murugadoss
Cast: Aamir Khan, Asin, Jiah Khan
Here is Aamir bringing into vogue yet another new hairstyle topped with a "to die for" physique complete with eight pack abs. HEY GIRLS at least let me finish my review before you rush! The movie is going to stick around in the theatres for quite a long time.
Now coming to the story, Aamir plays Sanjay Singhania, a hot-shot industrialist who who falls in love with a bubbly girl Kalpana who always has a spring in her step and is pretty much the opposite pole of the tycoon played by Aamir. The role of Kalpana is played the Tamil actress Asin who essayed the same role in A. R. Murugadoss's own Tamil version of which Ghajini is a remake.
In the film, Kalpana is brutally murdered in front of her lover, Sanjay, who then turns into a killing machine thirsting for the blood of Ghajini, the man who killed his lady love. But having been hit on the head with an iron rod on the head, Sanjay suffers from short-term memory loss due to which he cannot remember things for more than 15 minutes. So he uses his body as "the things to do" reminder board by tattooing his body with all the instructions that will ultimately lead him to Ghajini played by Pradeep Rawat.
In the film Jiah Khan assays a small role of the medical student who helps our hero achieve his goal.
The film, especially the short-term memory loss part, seems to be clearly inspired by Christopher Nolan's Momento. But inspite of speculation about the birthplace of the original plot, this film has one of Aamir's best performances as an actor and is worth a watch in the theatres.
