German police radar trap catches cyclist speeding while drunk
Hagen, Germany - A drunken cyclist careering downhill, exceeding the speed limit as he overtook three cars, has been trapped by a radar camera, police in the German city of Hagen said Tuesday.
The 37-year-old man gave off a strong smell of alcohol as he was stopped, the officers in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia said.
He was travelling at 42 kilometres an hour in a built-up area as he passed the cars adhering to the speed limit of 30.
Confiscating his drivers licence was not an option. The drunken speedster had lost his licence for drunken driving some years back and not bothered to apply for a new one. (dpa)
