German police: Man stopped for speeding had an entire mobile office wired in his car
On Friday, Saarland State Police in Germany said that, earlier this week, they had stopped a man for speeding; and found that the interior of the Ford station wagon which he was driving had been wired like an entire mobile office --- complete with a laptop, printer, router and other devices.
According to the police, the 35-year-old man was pulled for driving at a speed of nearly 130 kph (80 mph) in a 100 kph zone on the autobahn near Saarbruecken on November 12. After the police had chased the man down for speeding, they found some "accessories" which indicated that he wired up his vehicle with a full-fledged mobile office.
The police disclosed that the "accessories" which were found wired up in the man's US-made Ford station wagon included a laptop which was docked up on a wooden frame on the passenger seat of the vehicle.
Along with the laptop, which had been titled for easy accessibility from the driver's seat, there was a printer; a router; a WLAN antenna; and a wireless internet stick. All the devices were powered by an inverter placed in the vehicle. Furthermore, the entire mobile office arrangement was topped up with a navigation system and cellphone which was mounted to the windshield.
However, the police also added that since there was no evidence to substantiate that the man used the mobile office while driving, he was only cited with a euro120 ($153) speeding ticket.
