German Bank DVB asks DGCA to de-register two of Kingfisher planesGermany-based DVB, one of the leading global aviation financing banks, has demanded civil aviation regulator DGCA to de-register two planes Kingfisher Airlines' planes.

Official sources revealed that DVB officials yesterday met DGCA chief Arun Mishra and pressed the regulator for de-registration of the two Kingfisher planes. Kingfisher Airlines' executive vice president Hitesh Patel was also present in the meeting.

According to the sources, the meeting remained indecisive, and the regulator is yet to taken a decision.

The two aircrafts in question were sent to Turkey for maintenance and repair, but DVB seized the aircrafts and refused to send them back. However, the German Bank can't lease or sell the planes to some other company unless they are de-registered India.

Separately, plane lessor International Lease Finance Corp (ILFC) announced that it had removed one of six Kingfisher planes stranded by a dispute over the adjournment of operations at the carrier.

Los Angeles-based ILFC, which has long been arguing that its planes are being held "hostage" in the Kingfisher dispute, also warned India's failure to resolve the dispute over the grounded carrier's unpaid bills could drive potential investments away from the country's aviation industry.

Liquor baron Vijay Mallya-promoted Kingfisher Airlines Ltd has not been operating since late October last year. The beleaguered carrier is burdened with a huge debt pile of around Rs 8,000 crore.
