With the passage of time, not many individuals have been volunteering to become Dhadhis. This is steadily becoming a major concern for many members of the Sikh community who wish to see the Sikh culture gain popularity and respect among the new-age children.

Indian Hindus arrive in Lahore to celebrate Lord Shiva’s son Kartikeya’s birthdayLahore, Nov 25: A delegation of around 112 Hindus has reportedly arrived in Lahore to celebrate the birth anniversary of Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva, at Katas Raj temples.

Katas Raj, a group of temples, is one of important worship places for Hindus in Pakistan. A pond at Katas Raj came into being because of tears of Lord Shiva on the death of his wife Satti.

Buddhists hold Krodhi-Kali prayers in Bodh Gaya

Bodhgaya, Nov 21: Thousands of Buddhists from across the world congregated at Bodh Gaya for Krodhi-Kali ceremony for world peace on Thursday.

Nuns and monks attired in the traditional Buddhist costumes played instruments made out of human bones to the accompaniment of special prayers.

Devotees said attending the ceremony gave them a lot of satisfaction.

"This is our second annual Krodhi-Kali ceremony. Last year also we had a similar event which went very successfully, and everybody of us satisfied and we went back to our country with full satisfaction," said Nangye, a Bhutanese monk.

Apart from India and Bhutan, a large number of monks from many South-Asian countries attended the ceremony.

25pct UK school kids ''bullied for their beliefs''

London, Nov 17 : One in four kids is bullied at school because of their religious belief, according to a new study.

The study, conducted on more than 1,000 pupils by the anti-bullying charity BeatBullying, has shown that 23 per cent of the pupils were bullied as a result of their faith.

Also, 9 per cent of those with a faith were bullied as a result of wearing religious symbols to school.

"These two girls knew we were fasting, they got me in the toilets and tried to force crisps down my throat; they were all laughing their heads off," the Independent quoted one
13-year-old Muslim girl, as saying.
