Study: Babies from Frozen Embryos HealthierAccording to research, IVF babies born from frozen embryos are healthier than those who develop from fresh embryos. Three studies that were presented at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine conference in San Francisco, said that babies from frozen embryos were less likely to be premature or under weight.

A study from Finland said that babies born from fresh embryos had a 35 % higher chance of being premature and were 64 % more likely to have a lower birth weight than those born from frozen embryos.

Vitamins-mineral cocktail may hold key to prevent noise induced hearing loss

Washington, Nov 11: A cocktail of vitamins and mineral magnesium has been found effective in preventing hearing loss caused by loud noises, a new study has shown.

After the combination of nutrients, called AuraQuell, was found to be successful in laboratory tests, researchers at the University of Michigan Kresge Hearing Research Institute are now testing if it would benefit humans as well.

"The prevention of noise induced hearing loss is key," said Glenn E. Green, M. D., assistant professor of otolaryngology at the U-M Health System and director of the U-M Children''s Hearing Laboratory.

The overall number of cases has touched the 3,500 mark with over 400 cases put in the suspected cases category and over 1,000 patients being treated at the hospitals in the city hailing from other parts of the state.
