The birth of Stella Biblis on March 4 was the clear evidence of advancement in infertility treatment and wonders it can do for childless couples. Stella was born from sperm of her father that was frozen 21 years ago.
Chris Biblis, 38, of Charlotte, was treated for leukemia between the ages of 13 and 18. Chris's mother encouraged 16-years-old boy to freeze some of his sperm which was done on April 25, 1986 at Xytex International Ltd. in Atlanta.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed that there has been no significant change in infection rates of nine food-borne illnesses, including salmonella and E. coli since 2004.
Dr. Robert Tauxe, deputy director of the CDC division of Foodborne, Bacterial and Mycotic Diseases said: "Progress has plateaued. This indicates to us further measures are needed to prevent future illness."

Fortis Healthcare has made announcement about the establishment of a separate block for the treating of cancer patients at its Noida Hospital.
The hospital said that it will make an investment of Rs 30 crore to set up this block.
Mr. Shivinder Mohan Singh, Fortis Healthcare Managing Director, said, “Fortis Noida is constructing a separate block for Oncology covering an area of 30,000 sq ft. This block is expected to be operational in third quarter of fiscal 2010.”
Washington, April 9: A new type of acupressure wristbands may offer a safe and cost effective way to keep nausea from affecting cancer patients while receiving radiation treatment, say researchers at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
The researchers say that a clinical trial conducted by them dispels the notion that the placebo effect, an outcome related to one’s body that one expect to happen, may be why elastic wristbands reduce nausea.
