The study led by Michael Huncharek MD, MPH, Director of the Meta-Analysis Research Group showed that the most American children and adolescents are not getting enough calcium that is a mandatory requirement for healthy bones, teeth and muscles.

The researchers analyzed the data collected from 21 clinical trails that involved 3, 8000 children. The intake of these children was adjusted according to the daily calcium recommendation issued by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). Researches found that total BMC of the children whose calcium intake was below the required amount, was increased by 25 times.

A new study disclosed that intake of calcium in higher quantities may significantly improve bone health in kids.

In order to find out how consumption of dietary calcium have an effect on bone mineral content (BMC) - a sign for bone strength - in kids, study researchers followed a proof-based approach to evaluate information from 21 randomized clinical experimentations with over 3,800 children.

Researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles has found the cause of Postpartum Depression especially in women. This sort of depression is experienced immediately after child delivery by some women. This discovery may prove helpful in the treatment of postpartum depression.

The initial tests were done on mice that were deficient in a protein. This special protein is helpful in determining the sex hormone fluctuations of pregnancy and the postpartum period. The name of protein is GABA receptor (type A).

The researchers at the University of Adelaide claim that they have developed a new treatment of advanced prostrate cancer. The lead researchers, Dr Lisa Butler of the University’s Dame Roma Mitchell Cancer Research Laboratories and Professor Wayne Tilley, founding member of the Freemasons Foundation Centre for Men’s Health, claim that the new treatment have lesser side effects as compared to the existing treatments of the prostrate cancer. The new treatment is the combination of new drugs at lower doses with existing prostate cancer drugs.
