Depression Makes People More Sensitive To PainRecent study by Irina Strigo of the University of California San Diego and colleagues showed that individuals suffering from depression react more strongly while anticipating pain.

Researchers found that people with depression had more activity in brain regions involved in emotions when they anticipated or experienced pain.

The study included 15 people in their mid-20s diagnosed with major depression but not taking medication to treat it and 15 similar people without depression.

Researchers from University of Western Sydney studied 120 career women between 35-55 years. The study showed a dramatic difference in the "alcohol life cycle" of women and men.

Janice Withnall called it a ‘supermum syndrome’ where many were drinking in private, denied to reveal the extent of their drinking and were reluctant to seek help habits.

Free Treatment For Poor Diabetic Children

Free Treatment For Poor Diabetic Children Jnana Sanjeevani Medical Centre at Marenahalli in Bangalore will provide medical care and insulin injection to 100 children, from below poverty line families till they complete schooling, under a free diabetic treatment programme.

This programme is supported by Sarojini Damodaran Charitable Trust.

Dr Srikanta, diabetologist and member of the Trust, said that the Centre mainly caters to children with type-1 diabetes, in which insulin shots form their lifeline.
