Madame Tussauds immortalises Camilla in wax

London, Sept 27 : Prince Charles’ wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, has been immortalized in wax by the UK outpost of Madame Tussauds.

The royal’s wax model will now stand alongside those of her hubby, and steps sons Princes William and Harry in the newly-refurbished Royal Zone.

Looking on is the waxwork of Diana, Princess of Wales - placed 15ft away, facing the Duchess.

For the model, not only did Camilla sit the sculptor at Clarence House, but also picked out her outfit and accessories.

Geelani condemns India-UK military exercise in Ladakh

Srinagar, Sept. 27 : The Chairman of the hardline faction of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Shah Geelani has condemned the high-altitude military exercise by India and Britain in Ladakh.

Geelani said Ladakh is part of disputed Kashmir and the joint military exercise is in contravention of agreements.

Dawood's brother surrenders, seeks bail from Mumbai court

Mumbai, Sept.26 : Fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim's brother, Iqbal Kaskar, has surrendered before a special court in Mumbai in connection with a case relating to the illegal construction of Sara-Sahara shopping malls.

Kaskar, who was acquitted in the case where he is alleged to have aided Dawood in constructing the structures, had to surrender after the Bombay High Court last week admitted an appeal against his acquittal.

Following the surrender, Kaskar sought bail and the court is to hear the arguments in the matter.

Amritsar kids observe Bhagat Singh's 100th birth anniversary a day earlier

Amritsar, Sept.26 :Children of the Ram Ashram School in Amritsar today celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, a day earlier than scheduled.

Holding placards and photographs of Bhagat Singh during the felicitation ceremony, the children inspired a feeling of patriotism through the gathering.

Women in violence-hit Manipur paint to combat stress

Imphal (Manipur), Sep 26 : Apart from opting ‘Art’ as a career, women in Manipur have taking up painting as a therapeutic way to combat stress and express their feelings.

In the past two years, the number of girl students enrolling in the art college has increased manifold.

"I am glad that the response is encouraging and girls are taking keen interest," said Y. Nabachandra, Principal of the Imphal Art College.
