London, Jan. 23: Manchester City has offered Didier Drogba 180, 000-pound a week to quit Chelsea.

The striker is interested because he believes his old boss Jose Mourinho will take over at Eastlands this summer.

Drogba, 30, could earn 40 million pound over a period of four-and-a-half years, reports The Sun.

The tabloid revealed yesterday that Manchester City had turned to 15-million-pound Drogba after failing to get Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn.

Berlin  - Hertha Berlin decided Thursday against signing Australia midfielder Scott Chipperfield following a medical test.

The club said it was uncertain when the 33-year-old player would recover from a foot injury suffered playing for FC Basel a week ago.

Hertha coach Lucien Favre is looking for a player on the left of midfield who can slot in straight away when the Bundesliga resumes at the end of the month.

Chipperfield was quoted by Basler Zeitung's online edition as saying: "I'm very disappointed but it's still OK for me to return to Basel."

London, Jan. 22 : An angry Brazilian striker Kaka has accused Manchester City of "not having a clue" about what made him decide not to join the club.

His reaction came after City accused Kaka's father of being greedy and unprofessional following the breakdown of his proposed 91-million pound world-record move from A C Milan, reports The Sun.

"There was total confusion. Not one of them had a clear idea of what was going on. It took me less than 30 seconds to stay with Milan. I have taken a huge weight off my mind," Kaka said.
