One injured, one dead after stabbing at Singapore university Singapore - A final year student of Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTU) stabbed a lecturer Monday morning and then jumped off a building to his death, NTU said in a statement.

The professor is in stable condition. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he received medical treatment for cuts sustained in the attack.

The student of NTU's electrical and electronic engineering school was pronounced dead after his body had been found at the foot of the seven-storey university building.

Lieutenant Colonel Ernesto Torres said the fighting erupted Sunday when government troops encountered an undetermined number of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) rebels in Datu Piang town in Maguindanao province, 930 kilometres south of Manila.

Karsan Suva, a police constable with Porbandar Local Crime Branch (LCB), ended his life by shooting self with his service revolver. His wife and his younger son died too after consuming poison on Sunday morning.

However, his elder son who too consumed poison was rushed to hospital and was safe, sources say. Suva shot himself in the morning when he was alone at his residence at Madhav Park in Porbandar.

His elder daughter came to know about it when she went into his room to call him for lunch. The police were informed and his body was rushed for post mortem.

Jajulie Jupakkal was attacked in Jolo town on Jolo island, 1,000 kilometres south of Manila, according to Senior Superintendent Julasirim Kasim, a provincial police chief.

Kasim said Jupakkal suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot.

"Sajanu Hamir Dangar is no longer a minor and appears to have conducted no offence as far as her marriage is concerned,'' said PL Chaudhary, DySP of Anjar.

However, as for her apparent act of feigning to be dead, the police are investigating the matter and will decide if this constitutes any offence.
