A prize money of Rs 13.720 crore was announced by the Indian Cricket League (ICL) for its October edition of Twenty20 championship. The second season of ICL began with a glittering ceremony on October 10 and will witness 41 matches at Hyderabad, Panchkula, Gurgaon and Ahmedabad.
The Rawalpindi Express, Shoaib Akhtar will make a comeback, as the player was named in a 15-man Pakistan squad, for the T20 Canada tournament which will take place amongst four nations in Toronto this month.
Shoaib who was banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for five years can now play for his nation as the ban was temporarily lifted by the Lahore High Court. The paceman has not been able to play this year due to PCB’s decision.

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced former India captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth as the new chairman of the National Senior Cricket Selection Committee.
Srikkanth was appointed as the chief selector at the BCCI's 79th Annual General Meeting. He had replaced Dilip Vengsarkar at the helm of affairs. The other four selectors appointed in the meeting were Raja Venkat (East Zone), Surendra Bhave (West Zone), Narendra Hirwani (Central Zone) and Yashpal Sharma (North Zone).
