India & England Cricket LogoLondon, Nov. 15 : The first of seven one-day internationals between England and India in Rajkot was so one-sided, that former England Test cricketer and now cricket writer Derek Pringle has said that England had no choice but to bow to a superior force.

Writing in The Telegraph, Pringle says: “To lose a one-day international in India is nothing new for visiting teams, but to lose one by 158 runs over 50 overs is to bow to a superior force”.

Responding to Ponting’s criticism of his write-ups during the series, Roebuck said that Ponting’s leadership was questionable and his field settings were contrived, but added that the pitches were also partly to blame for the final result.

Melbourne, Nov. 15 : The Australian cricket team is on the lookout for a full-time travelling sports psychologist to prevent players from breaking down mentally.

According to the Courier Mail, South Africa and India both have "mental coaches" but Australia engage the services of a sports shrink only occasionally.

Australia''s arduous schedule in the next 12 months means there will almost certainly be combustible mental issues to counter.

Former Australian coach John Buchanan is behind a push for a more extended team support network, including a sports psychologist, and the Australian Cricketers'' Association is developing a blueprint to examine the issue.

Speaking on this, Rajiv Shukla, (Chairman - BCCI Finance Committee) said, “It was an ex parte order and the BCCI officials were not given an opportunity to put across their case. We have decided to move the Supreme Court in this matter.”

Symonds comes back firingSydney, Nov 15 : Australian all rounder Andrew Symonds scored a brisk 45 of 35 balls in his comeback match, but couldn’t prevent his side’s 64-run loss to the Australian Cricket Association All Stars in a Twenty20 charity fundraiser at the Gabba.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Symonds hit two sixes and a four in his entertaining knock for his team, but that was not enough to reach the All Stars’ 203 for four.

Importantly, the Queenslander, dumped from the Australian squad after missing a team meeting to go fishing, top-scored for them before he skied one to Simon Katich off Dan Marsh.
