Perth, Jan. 20 : Former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist has urged New South Wales batsman David Warner to learn to relax first, and said that once he does that, the runs will flow again.

Gilchrist, who played 287 one-day internationals during his nearly decade-long career, was quoted by Fox Sports as saying: "Don''t put too much pressure on yourself, I always felt that pressure came from within, it is not a matter of the headlines or the air time that you received."

Islamabad, Jan. 20 : It is highly unlikely that the Australian cricket team will tour Pakistan amidst the precarious security conditions in the country, a top official of the Pakistan Cricket Board believes.

"I don't think that Australia will agree to play the series in Pakistan because they have security apprehensions," Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ijaz Butt said.

London, Jan. 20 : The England cricket team under new captain Andrew Strauss will have to prove to its fans and spectators both here and in the Caribbean that it has the unity to perform in the run-up to the Ashes to be held later in the year.

Strauss and his teammates will embark on their tour of the West Indies today, and in purely cricketing terms, playing the West Indies in the Caribbean - or anywhere else - is not what it used to be.

The Independent says that the team has been mediocre for years.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been selected in India’s 15-member squad for the Sri Lanka tour while because of a hamstring injury off-spinner Harbhajan Singh had to be left out from the team.

Jadeja was rewarded for his fine performances in the Ranji Trophy in which he scored over 700 runs at over 67 per innings and picked 42 wickets.

However, right hand batsman from Delhi Virat Kohli was dropped from the team announced by BCCI joint secretary Sanjay Jagdale after a meeting of the selectors. Indian skipper MS Dhoni also attended the meeting.

Dubai, Jan. 19 : Sri Lanka will move up two places to fifth in the Reliance Mobile ICC ODI Championship table if it beats Pakistan in all three ODIs coming up in Karachi and Lahore.

According to an ICC media release, Mahela Jayawardena's team currently lies in seventh position following a tour of mixed results in Bangladesh. In a tri-series that also involved Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka lost one match to the home side but later exacted revenge in what was a thrilling and closely fought final.

After making a speedy recovery from last month’s knee surgery, Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds is now looking forward for the next month tour of South Africa.

Commenting over Symonds fitness, team physio, Alex Kountouris said, “I would be disappointed if Andrew wasn't available to go to South Africa.”

“Things are progressing well. At this stage it's hard to say when Andrew will be back but I'd expect it to be somewhere between three to five weeks”, added Kountouris.
