General Motors offering attractive discounts to attract customers

General Motors offering attractive discounts to attract customersAmerican auto giant, General Motors has announced a range of attractive discounts in the trucks market in order to attract customers and compete with discounts from rivals Ford and Chrysler.

General Motors, with an aim to clear the 2012 stock, is offering a up to $9,000 off the remaining 2012 models. The company has also announced $4,500 off the models produced in 2013. The discounts along with low interest rates, attractive lease deals and abundant credit options will help boost demand in the market for trucks.

According to market experts, GM has increased discounts during December in order to counter rivals while others have either kept discounts unchanged or raised incentives on certain models. Dealers estimate that the incentives during the month range from $4,500 to around $5,000.

Meanwhile, there were indications that General Motors might drop hybrids out of the lineup when it announced details on the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickups but did not mention hybrid models. GM North America President Mark Reuss has confirmed the Sierra and Sliverado trucks will use only internal combustion engines.

The Detroit Three including GM, Ford and Chrysler control 83 percent of the U. S. full-size pickup truck market and the increasing competition among them creates a good opportunity for the buyers in the market to tap into attractive discount deals.
