Gaana.com launches its official Windows app
Music streaming service of Times Internet, Gaana. com has announced the launch of its official app for the host of devices powered by Microsoft’s Windows.
Gaana. com, which is a part of the Times Group, will offer access to its library with more than a million songs to its users. The app will have a range of songs from different genres including old Hindi film songs, world music, regional and folk songs, besides newest Hindi movie songs. The company is already offering apps for other platforms such as iOS, Android, Black-Berry and Java-based devices for its users.
The new Gaana. com Windows app will be free for the users. The app has been downloaded more than 500,000 times across all platforms since it was launched in January, according to Times Internet chief executive Satyan Gajwani. The app comes with a host of features like social listening that allows users to see what their friends are listening to on the app, real-time syncing of songs, playlists, albums and artists from different devices like computers and smartphones and a radio mode allowing users to create their own radio channel using their favourite songs.
“We're focussed on three things now. Providing more content, more access and more discovery for our users. Our biggest competitor is piracy. We want to provide a wide variety of music for our listeners which can be accessed easily and have them switch to a legal means of consuming music,” said Gajwani.
