Freezing Eggs method may not be bestWay to ensure Pregnancy
Sometimes, women’s career and being most fertile time period come at the same time. In that situation, women many times go for egg freezing, as a solution to extend that time period. But a new study has found that it is not always the best method to become a mother.
The research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association has unveiled that pregnancies from egg freezing method were bit less successful than conventional in vitro fertilization with fresh eggs.
“Women who are considering electively freezing their own eggs for fertility preservation should be counseled that pregnancy chances with frozen eggs maybe be somewhat lower then with fresh”, affirmed the researchers.
Study researchers have found that there was almost 50% success rate per IVF cycle and 43% success rate with frozen eggs. Study researchers have also affirmed that the success rate of both the techniques did not show much difference.
In fact, Richard Paulson of the Society for Reproductive Medicine said that he was surprised to know that one-fifth of the IVF cycles were from frozen eggs. In order to find out the success of both techniques, researchers collected data of 380 fertility centers in 2013 that have performed 92% if IVF procedures.
Researchers found that 11,148b IVF cycles involved donated eggs and out of them, 2,227 used eggs that were frozen. Live birth rate was found to be 43.2% for women for frozen eggs and 49.6% from fresh eggs.
