Fourth of July is Busiest Summer Travel Holiday

As per AAA Mid-Atlantic, more than 1.2 million New Jersey residents will travel 50 miles or more for the July Fourth holiday weekend. In comparison to last year, there is a 1% this time. More than eight out of 10 will be traveling by automobile during the holiday.

The Independence Day holiday is from Wednesday, July 1 through Sunday, July 5. It is expected that 41.9 million Americans will travel nationally for this holiday. Tracy Noble, spokesperson for AAA Mid-Atlantic, was of the view, “The Fourth of July is typically the busiest summer travel holiday, with 295,000 more New Jerseyans traveling this weekend compared to Memorial Day”.

Noble said that there are high chances that on July 4, gas prices will be the lowest in five years. There are some consumers who will be use their savings on gas to pay debt and save. Current average price for a gallon of gas is $2.61. In New York, the average price of gasoline is $2.96, 2.89 in Pennsylvania and $2.70 in Delaware.

In fact, AAA is expecting to help nearly 7,500 New Jersey motorists at the roadside on July Fourth. Majority of the calls will be for flat tires, dead batteries and lockouts. If to go as per AAA, this year could witness the highest number of travelers in eight years. AAA said that increasing income is making more number of Americans to go on a holiday this year.
