Five killed in car bombing in northern Iraq Bagdad  - A car bomb killed five people in Kirkuk in northern Iraq, local media reported Friday.

Another 32 people were injured in the explosion Thursday evening at a busy market in the city's Rahimawa district.

The city is home to Kurds, Arabs and Turkmens.

Tensions in the region have been on the rise recently because of demands from Kurds to include the province of Kirkuk with its

oilfields in their autonomous region in northern Iraq. (dpa)
