Five injured in explosion at Arcelor-Mittal steelworks

Sarajevo - Five people were injured in an explosion at the blast furnace of a steelworks in the central Bosnian town of Zenica, company officials confirmed Friday.

The explosion, according to report, occurred late Thursday night at one of blast furnaces of Arcelor-Mittal steelworks company.

Officials of Zenica's hospital confirmed five workers were admitted to the hospital with burns, none of them being critical.

An investigation was launched to find out what caused the accident.

The world's leading steelmaker Mittal took over majority control of the Zenica steelworks company, one of the biggest steel outfits in the Balkans, in 2004. (dpa)
