Firefighters control 55 percent Ariz. wildfire
Officials have said that a wildfire north of Flagstaff, Ariz., was 55 percent contained Sunday and some firefighters were being sent home or to other assignments.
Naztoday. com reported on Sunday that since Friday, more than 200 firefighters have been released from the Schultz fire just north of the city, leaving about 750 firefighters still working the fire.
It has also been reported that firefighters were conducting mop-up operations and widening containment lines around the fire, which has burned 15,000 acres.
Other crews are removing dangerous burned trees that could fall, and re-establishing fire lines that were dug with bulldozers.
By next Friday, fire managers are estimating the blaze will be fully contained.
Naztoday. com further reported that officials have said they are continuing to search for those responsible for the fire, likely caused by an abandoned camp fire. (With Inputs from Agencies)
