FIR Against SRK Over Derogatory Remarks

ShahrukhThe King Khan aka the Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan is in trouble again.

An FIR has been lodged against the actor for allegedly making statements against Prophet Mohammed in the July issue of Time N Style magazine.

Confirming the development, Prakash George, Senior Police Inspector, Bandra police station said, “We have registered an FIR against Shah Rukh Khan after we received an application from an advocate who alleged that the actor made some statements hurting the sentiments of Muslims.”

Apart from SRK, the complaint was also registered against the writer and publisher of the magazine.

In his complaint, one Khalid Babu Querishi alleged that that Bollywood actor had used unparliamentary language against the Prophet which is unacceptable.

The case was registered under section 295-a (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religion feelings or any class by insulting its religion beliefs) and 34 (acts done by several persons with common interest) of IPC.

However, SRK on Friday said that his comments to a magazine were misinterpreted due to a "writing error".

“Obviously I think that there is no more important figure in history than Prophet Mohammad in the most positive way possible. For all practical purposes, Prophet Mohammad is the most important positive figure in Islam," said the 43 year actor.

“If I can call it history then most impressive, positive figure Prophet Mohammad and from recent times there are the nice ones like Nelson Mandela, Gandhiji and Mother Teresa.' This is a clarification and the error is deeply regretted,” added the actor.

Moreover, a corrigendum from the magazine was also published across Mumbai newspapers wherein the magazine accepted the error.

However, the police officials had made it clear that the FIR against the actor and two others had not been withdrawn even after the corrigendum was published.
