The perfect Bollywood actor-director, Aamir Khan, who believes only in hard work, once again proved that nothing could stop him from fulfilling a promise.

Aamir has received the most prestigious Dinanath Mangeshkar award for his immense services to the Indian cinema.

Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar presented the award to Aamir on Thursday.

Despite pulling his hamstring muscle while shooting a tough scene for his upcoming flick ‘Ghajini,’ the super star was in Mumbai to attend the award ceremony, which is organized every year by Lata and her sibs in order to honor their late father, actor-singer Dinanath Mangeshkar.

Expressing his gratefulness for being selected for the award, Aamir said, “I would have come on wheel chair.”

Aamir, who was dressed in blue straight jeans, black full sleeves shirt and grey suede sneakers, looked in good cheer.

He was limping and occasionally grimacing from the pain from his injury.

On the occasion, Lata’s brother & well-known music director, Pt. Hridyanath Mangeshkar, said, “We know Aamir doesn’t attend award functions. But he made an exception for us. We are happy about it.”

The other Bollywood stars who have received this prestigious award in the past are ‘Dilip Kumar’ and ‘Amitabh Bachchan’.
