A favourite spot to dump dead bodies

dump dead bodiesThe Surajkund-Bhadkal area, where the body of Pooja Bhatia -- a Noida-based call center employee — was found on March 2 has become a favourite place for murderers to dump bodies.

This is the same road where the body of call centre executive Jigeesha Ghosh of Vasant Vihar in Delhi was recovered on March 20, 2009.

Though the police claim to have intensified vigil along this route, killers continue to murder people, dump bodies and walk scott free.

“The stretch between Ankhir and Surajkund is deserted. Most killers dump the bodies here,” said Kailash Sharma, a resident of Faridabad.

“We have intensified vigil along Surajkund road in view of incidents of crime in this area,” said DCP NIT Praveen Mehta, under whom Surajkund falls said, adding, "we have increased the number od check posts from three to six".

These six posts from Ankhir to Surajkund are manned by over 25 cops round the clock, the DCP said.

A human skeleton was recovered from the same area on June 28, 2009.
