Facebook’s latest makeover gathers mixed reviews
Melbourne, March 14: Facebook has managed to gather mixed reviews after rolling out changes to its home and profile pages from March 11.
The social-networking giant had previously announced the makeover on every member’s homepage.
However, changes were being introduced to a small percentage of its expanding 175 million members every day to prevent crashing the system.
These included increased friend limit, a rephrasing of the status update question, along with being able to follow profile pages of celebrities, organisations and causes while remaining updated about friends.
The free access website claimed having received more than 30,000 emails from those using the new layout, with over 5000 users clicking "like this" option as a response to the changes.
However, other comments showed a different side to the story.
"I absolutely hate this. Please change it back,” News. com. au quoted one user, Kelsie as saying.
Dawn said: "It is terrible, if it ain''t broke don''t fix it. Put it back the way it was or (at) least give people the option."
Another user Steffi added: "Why don''t you ask your members if we want this. I mean if we''re so important to you and you want our input on making rules and such why not ask about this. Why did you change it. It''s horrible."
Other users remained more tolerant, such as Alyssa who said: "Facebook has every right to change... it''s their site. People will get over this. Just like before." (ANI)
