Good news for iPhone facebookers — Facebook is gearing up to roll out new and enhanced Facebook application for the iPhone – Facebook 3.0.

The new Facebook application for the iPhone, Facebook 3.0 will come with a slew of new features and improvements. Facebook 3.0 will sport new home screen for easy access to stuff, search, and notifications. It will feature new menu selection for news feeds, and new section for organizing events or sending RSVPs.

Facebook 3.0 will allow users to create new photo albums, view profile picture albums or upload content, and tag photos. The new Facebook application will allow users viewing images with zooming in and zooming out.

Facebook 3.0 will feature built-in options to call or text Facebook friends from within the application. The application will offer improved handling of notifications, and will come with added support for support for notes and pages. However, the new Facebook application will not offer support for push notification.
