Evra says knocking out Madrid from CL would reinstate Man U ‘fear-factor’ among European teams

The Frenchman has said that the image of United, which was tarnished after last season's unexpected group-stage exit, can be restored if the English club can overcome the difficult Madrid challenge from the Champions League, the Mirror reports.

Adding that United cannot miss the opportunity to show their might this season, Evra said that he had been waiting for a big European tie like this for a long time, adding that that this match will be their biggest European game since the Barcelona title in 2008. Evra also said that the game will also pull in a lot of fans as a clash between United and Madrid is a game for big players to show their quality.

Evra said that proper attitude for the club to take is to aim to win every match and show their fans as well as rivals that United is still a force to reckon in Europe.

United's Madrid game is sandwiched between a testing Premier League match against Everton on Sunday and an FA Cup fifth-round tie with Reading on Monday week, a sequence that is expected to have a huge bearing on United's Treble hopes. (ANI)
