Evra says ignoring Man City reason behind Man U’s hefty lead in PL title race

/Patrice-EvraLondon, Jan 15 : Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has said they are not concerned with Manchester City's results this season, adding that the Red Devils are just concentrating on winning their own games. Evra United was too worried by their neighbours last season, which turned out to be a major disadvantage to their own performances, the Telegraph reports.

United are seven points clear of City following wins for both clubs on Sunday, but Roberto Mancini, the City manager, was quick to remind United that his side made up eight points space of four matches at the end of last season to secure their first title since 1968 and deprive United of their 20th.

However, the feeling at Old Trafford remains that the wound was self-inflicted, caused by too much attention being wasted on what was happening down the road, the paper said.

Evra believes this season United is stronger following the arrival of 21-goal Robin van Persie and midfielder Shinji Kagawa, the France full-back is confident United have this title race in hand.

Evra said last year they had same point as of City, but this time their squad is bigger and better. (ANI)
