Eden Gardens to BE 'Home Sweet Home' For Kolkata Knight Riders
The air between the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Mr. Shah Rukh Khan, was a little tense as CAB's recently elected President had written to King Khan asking for an explanation of Rs7.26 crore spent during the IPL matches in Eden Gardens. There had been a difference of opinion between the KKR and CAB with regard to giving free tickets to annual and associate members during the last IPL matches. The Members had even gone to court challenging the denial of free tickets. However, KKR and CAB had reached a compromising conclusion, but were opposed by a group led by Dalmiya.
King Khan was not at all apprehensive and told media persons that "I have been to CAB to say hello to Mr. Dalmiya .I should have gone earlier to greet him but my busy schedule prevented me from doing so”. Meanwhile, signal from Mr. Dalmiya was that all was well and put to rest the rumours that were flying around about the possible change of home state for KKR.
Quoting Dalmiya "I had a friendly and open discussion with Khan. I am happy about the way the meeting went .We discussed a lot of things. We did not discuss any specific points .......If he can take half a step we will take a three-fourth step".
The king of bollywood also stated that he had sent his wishes to Sourav Ganguly on his selection in the Test Team for India. He said "I feel happy when our team members play well”. He was also appreciative of the way Ajanta Mendis, Ricky Ponting and Shoaib Akhtar were playing. With all plans in place for IPL in 2009 King Khan seems to have started planning in advance.
